2 Cakes in Bloom
These cakes featured my very first work in gum paste. I found it surprisingly easy to work with. You can buy gum paste from any craft store pre-made or as a mix that you add water to. Both have worked great for me. These were rolled, cut with a flower-shaped cutter, shaped with a wood dowel. They dried within 10 minutes and were very sturdy.
More details from the cakes. The styling of the flowers is not very refined, but it made for a great effect when they were all assembled on the cake.
